Off-Season Moves – Pac-10 Football

The departure of USC Trojans head coach Pete Carroll, who took over head coaching duties with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks is one of the biggest moves in the Pac-10. Carroll will be missed both on campus and on the field who had been coaching at USC for many years.

The firing of line coach Pat Ruel was another blow for the Trojans. There is going to have some rebuilding to do to get their staffing back to where it needs to be by the Trojans. Betting odds are always available with different sportsbook.

The head coaching job at Louisiana Tech was accepted by former Arizona Wildcats offensive coordinator Sonny Dykes. The announcement that he was leaving the team surprised the Wildcats, who had no idea he was even scouting around for a new job.

It was needed to add two new coordinators to his roster by Arizona coach Mike Stoops. Mark Stoops (Mike’s brother) filled the Defensive Coordinator. He was with Florida State previously.

The job with the Washington State Cougars offered to Bill Moos will be taken by him. For both him as well as the university this will be proved to be a great move. With his training and credibility the team should go far, could they be in the running for the Pac-10 Championship this year?

This season will be proved to be an interesting season with so many changes throughout the Pac-10. See the online betting odds of football by going to your favorite online sportsbook.

Kentucky Derby favorite – Eskendereya

Review of the top contenders for the race is being started by the experts with the upcoming Kentucky Derby.

The horses have been judged and evaluated for years by horse critics to be able to pick possible winners. With the more analysis you can do the better because there is usually a lot of money on the line with horse races. Some of the horses that have been making buzz lately include the 3 yr. olds like Charismatic and Eskendereya. Betting on horse racing odds are always available.

When Charismatic won the Kentucky Derby and almost took the Triple Crown, it made a lot of hype last spring. Eskendereya’s win in the Fountain of Youth Stakes gives the horse a good chance of taking a win in the upcoming race although he has not been as impressive.

As jockey John Velazquez and Eskendereya won the race by almost eight and a half lengths, it was pretty incredible. In the last couple of years, trainer Todd Pletcher has gone to great lengths to improve this horse. Eskendereya finished ninth in Santa Anna when he was two years old. Eskendereya proved himself when he toyed with other Kentucky Derby hopefuls at the Fountain of Youth race. With an authoritative win he pleased and rocked the competition as he did.

At the upcoming Kentucky Derby, you can’t help but put him in the running to perform extremely well with this big win. Check out the horse betting odds with your favorite sportsbook.

Sports Betting – New Jersey moves to legalize sports betting

Sports betting has been around for ages. Whether it has been legally represented, or done under the table, it still happens quite frequently.

Just recently, New Jersey state senators have jumped on the bandwagon to fight sports betting laws in their state. Steven Sweeney, who is the chairman of the state senate, has been allowed a spot in a lawsuit that proposes to ban sports betting in New Jersey.

This comes after other lawsuits that have had a similar effect.

In March of last year, Senator Ray Lesniak filed a suit to dispute a ban sports betting in all states other than Nevada, Montana, Delaware, and Oregon. This action has been in place for the last 18 years. Senator Lesniak allowed to have Sweeney participate and even asked another speaker to come and join in on the lawsuit.

Legalized sports betting can offer a lot of extra revenue for states if it is done right. Delaware, for instance, projects to raise revenue of almost $55 million from legalized betting this year. Because of this, states are fighting for the rights of their residents to uphold or fix state laws.

Lesniak and Sweeney are hoping to handle the matter without the help of the attorney general. New Jersey’s governor has even offered support for the cause of legalized sports betting but is waiting on more information on the state’s current gaming industry.

Winter Olympic Luge Tragedy to Triumph

The decision to slow down the track was made by the Olympic committee following the tragic death of 21 year old Georgian luger, Nodar Kumaritashvili.

The track was now too slow and the Canadians’ discord over beliefs that slowing the course down made them lose home field advantage are amongst complaints, competition began on Sunday.

The record breaking speeds seen in practice slowed down considerably with the Men’s start line being moved to the original starting position of the Women’s luge, and the Women’s and Doubles’ luge being moved to the Juniors’ start. The gold coming in with a time of 1:22.705 was won by Austria’s Andreas Linger and Wolfgang Linger. This is the second consecutive win for this Austrian brothers’ team. The second doubles team in history to take home the gold in consecutive Olympics is Andreas and Wolfgang Lingers.

In the Men’s single luge, taking both the gold and silver on top has come out by the Germans. At the age of 21, Felix Loch is the youngest Olympic luge gold medal winner in history. Teammate David Moeller follows by taking the silver and Italy’s Armin Zoggeler by taking third for the bronze. The Germans have dominated the competition with nine of the thirteen golds awarded in Olympic luge going to Germany. 2010 Triple Crown Nominees Lead by Lookin At Lucky

A long list of 366 three-year-old Thoroughbred colts and fillies that have been nominated for this year’s Triple Crown races is headed by Lookin At Lucky.

Despite a loss in the Breeder’s Cup by a head to Vale of York, who is also nominated, the 2 year old Eclipse champion of 2009 was Looking At Lucky.

Triple Crown organizers noted that Eclipse-winning two-year-old filly She Be Wild was also nominated, the sport’s attendance has plummeted in recent years and, hoping to capitalize on the success of Rachel Alexandria. Other fillies entered include Blind Luck, winner of the Oak Leaf stakes and third in the Breeder’s Cup Juvenile Fillies.

For the Triple Crown, over 400 horses are nominated usually, but organizers are confident that after some of the early Kentucky Derby prep races have been run more entries will make the final nomination deadline of March 27.

A late nomination fee of $6000 will have to be forked out by owners of the entrants.

Due to the affects of mare reproductive loss syndrome which decimated Kentucky farms from 2001 – 2003, only 358 colts and fillies were nominated in 2005. Horses have a gestation of 11 months. Only three year olds are allowed to run in the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes.

I hope you were able to place your horse racing odds correctly this time.

Do all sports betting sites take money out of what you earn from each winning bet?

zkeiser44 asked:

I’m new and want to try out a sports betting site but I didn’t understand why you don’t receive your total amount of what you bet. Like if I bet 10 dollars on the straight up game I only receive like 4 bucks for winning the bet. Why don’t i receive 10?

NBA Basketball Betting

Boston, MA – NBA Basketball Betting: The Boston Celtics would like to clean up their play at home before setting out on yet another road trip. A matchup with the struggling Milwaukee Bucks may help their cause.

Winners of seven in a row, the Celtics look to deal the Bucks their sixth straight road defeat Tuesday night.

Oddsmakers from Online Casino SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Celtics –12.5 point spread favorites for Tuesday’s game against the Bucks. Current NBA Basketball Betting Information shows that 73% of more the 386 bets for this game have been placed on the Celtics –12.5.

Boston (16-4) completed a four-game trip with a 105-87 win over Oklahoma City on Friday night. The Celtics, who improved to 9-1 on the road, are returning to the TD Garden to face the Bucks (9-10) before playing their next three on the road.

“It’s really strange when you play these games on the road, you come home for one game – I guess to unpack and repack – and then you go right back out there,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said.

Though Boston boasts its longest winning streak of the season, it is 4-3 at home since winning its first three games there.

Boston has a good opportunity to sharpen its play at the TD Garden. Milwaukee has allowed an average of 106.2 points in losing five straight on the road, where it is 2-7.

The Celtics have outscored the Bucks by an average of 16.6 points in winning three straight at home against them, and won two of the teams’ three meetings overall last season.

But Boston guard Ray Allen, who started his career with Milwaukee, has been held to 11 points or fewer in four of five games against his former team. The Celtics didn’t need much scoring from Allen versus the Thunder, either, getting 11 points from the veteran guard.

Allen’s 15.6 points per game is his lowest average since averaging 13.4 as a rookie in 1996-97. His teammates, though, are giving him plenty of support, and six other Celtics reached double figures in scoring against Oklahoma City.

Boston is shooting 54.3 percent over its last five games.

“Almost there,” point guard Rajon Rondo said when asked if the Celtics were meeting their expectations. “Not complete, but we’re putting (it) together. It’s not just one quarter now. We’re putting a couple quarters together. We’re not quite to 48 minutes but we’re almost there.”

Rondo will be matched up with outstanding Bucks rookie Brandon Jennings, who is averaging 21.3 points, 5.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 44.8 percent 3-point range.

Jennings’ 24 points, however, weren’t enough to help Milwaukee overcome a 101-86 loss to Cleveland on Sunday. The Bucks, who let the Cavaliers reel off 29 straight points in the first half, shot 37.6 percent and went 4 for 20 from beyond the arc.

“If you have those droughts where you’re not able to score, you’ve got to find a way to at least hang in the game,” said Milwaukee coach Scott Skiles, whose team has given up 100 points or more in seven of its last eight games.

After starting 8-3, the Bucks have slipped below .500 for the first time since opening the season with defeats in two of their first three games.

Michael Redd’s injury problems certainly haven’t helped. The veteran guard has missed five straight games with a sore left ankle, and is listed as day to day.

NCAA Trends & Previews

Baseball is grabbing a little of the spotlight, but it’s still football that still takes center stage in October.

NCAA Previews:

A marquee matchup in college football is set for Saturday evening when the No. 1 Florida Gators head to Baton Rouge to play the No. 4 LSU Tigers. Online sportsbook have the nation’s consensus top team favored by 7.5-points with a Total of 46.

But the question going into that key SEC matchup is will Florida be able to cover and win without the services of potential 2009 Heisman candidate Tim Tebow?

The Gators last saw action two weeks ago when they hammered the Kentucky Wildcats 41-7, unfortunately QB Tebow was hammered as well and suffered a concussion.

Florida had last week off, allowing Tebow extra time to rest and the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner was able to practice this week but hasn’t been given medical clearance to play and will be a game-time decision.

“After [Tuesday’s] practice, I was told to game plan with the intent that there’s a chance that Tim could play. That’s all I know,” Florida head coach Urban Meyer told ESPN.

“All the other stuff . . . we’ll make a decision as we get closer.”

NCAA Trends:

The Gators are 3-0 against the spread vs. the LSU Tigers during Tebow’s time in Gainesville and are 11-3 ATS against LSU in their last 14.

Florida is also 6-1 ATS in its last seven games in Louisiana.

NCAA Betting:

The sports betting public is still unsure of which way to go on this one, as the Tebow injury causes uncertainty. Online sportsbook SPORTSBETTING is reporting even betting action, with 54% leaning towards the Gators.

NFL Betting:

Of the five remaining undefeated teams in the NFL, it’s not surprising to see the Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants, somewhat surprising to see the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings and absolutely stunning to see the Denver Broncos.

Denver’s first-year head coach Josh McDaniels was criticized for his treatment of former QB Jay Cutler but four games into the regular season, he has the Broncos at 4-0 SU and ATS.

Denver will be in tough to grab win five this week as they prepare to host McDaniels’ mentor Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.

The Pats are a 3.5-point road faves with a Total of 41.5.

Denver has been quite successful against New England at Mile High going 11-2 straight up and 10-3 ATS and in its last seven home games against the Pats. Over/Under bettors take note, as these “Over” has hit six times in those games.

- Indianapolis will aim to remain undefeated in a Sunday night tilt against the AFC South division rival Tennessee Titans.

The Colts are listed as 4-point road faves with an Over/Under of 45.5.

In the last eight games between the two, the Under has cashed seven times and the Over has paid out only once.

In Indy’s last 10 games in the month of October, they are 8-2 SU and 7-3 ATS while Tennessee has struggled in its last eight games overall, going 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS.
